This Is Not Good
On the way home yesterday, I was just driving my usual way home with no intention of going anywhere but home. My phone rang, I answer it, it was my sister. She asked me what I was doing, I then realized I was at Target. I couldn't remember driving there, getting out of the car or anything, but it clicked when she asked and I was looking at DVD's.
Talk about a blackout.
And yes, I bought Jeff a DVD.
He Was Reading The Paper
I have been telling Jeff for forever and a day that he needs to pay more attention to his driving. One time when I was following him to the science center for an event, he was driving, talking on the phone, reading the paper and drinking his Starbucks all at the same time. I had a fit.
The other night while he was on his way home, he called me to say he was running late because of an accident. When I asked him what happened, he explained that a car rolled across the intersection and came with in 5 feet of his. When I asked if he saw how it happened, he said no, he was reading the paper and then heard a noise, looked up and saw a car on it's side coming towards him, so he backed his car up so it wouldn't get hit.
HE WAS READING THE PAPER!!!!!!!!!
He told the state troopers he didn't see how it happened, he wanted to be honest and of course it was weird since he was the only car in that intersection, so they let him go.
HE WAS READING THE PAPER!!!!!!!!!
I still love him, but I worry a little because what if he didn't hear the car coming because he was on his phone or jamming to some super cool Bruce Horsnby tunes. That car could have smacked right in to him.
After I got all crazy on him, he promised not to read the paper anymore while driving, but he can't make any promises with the phone or Starbucks.
All I Can Say Is...
PEACE OUT, ROVE! Don't let the door hit you on the ass on your way out.
My Babies
I never knew I could love them so much!
Doris is getting a grip on her new, sweet life. She gets me up around 5:00 each morning to go make and I can't complain! It's better than hearing her business hitting the floor. She doesn't like the dark and pouts when she has to walk on wet grass, but she's a little trooper. Her weight is getting better, soon we'll have to drop her nickname,
meatloaf.
George is still just as sweet as can be. His favorite thing to do is when he and Doris get dressed for a walk, he likes to pull on her leash and take her to the front door. George still likes to sleep under the covers between my feet and snuggle up with his daddy to watch Star Trek on the morning on TV Land.
Larry has been doing awesome with all the changes. It took him a day to get over Doris, but with Doris around, George doesn't chase him. He still likes his gravy from dog food and drinks his water out of a glass, Larry has just been a happy cat purring machine.
I can't wait to get home from work every night to see them, and I dread leaving in the morning because I miss them.
So tomorrow, being Saturday, Jeff and I will take George and Doris down to Winter Park to the Farmers Market, then to breakfast, then for a nice long walk so they can meet all the other people and their dogs.
This is what I live for, each day. My family and how much I love them.
Oweeeeeee!
So the wisdom teeth were yanked Thursday. Besides the blood and swelling, I must say the recovery hasn't been shabby.
I took Thursday and Friday off from work (so did Jeff to babysit). Mr doctor was awesome with everything and I love eating ice cream and mashed
potato's for every meal. Don't get me wrong, it hurt, and still does, but I had to come back to work Monday to shuffle through my mountain of crap.
So my weekend was pretty much nothing but movies, ice cream and sleeping. But I did learn a few things...
1. Stuck On You, much funnier the second time you see it.
2. Country Crock sour cream and chive potatoes mixed with Boston Market gravy = YUMMY!
3. Salt water doesn't taste all that bad.
4. Never tell your in-laws you're home recovering, that makes them want to come over and fix things and talk to you non stop since you're trapped and cannot talk back.
5. I have the best little family who took good care of me.
