Happy Birthday Larry!
My oldest boy will turn 4 tomorrow.
Happy Birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's A Girl!
Doris Day Stanford, a little girl puggle joined our family on Saturday, July 14th.
Saturday, Jeff, George Lucas and I went out to breakfast in Winter Park then over to Bull Fish (Georgie's favorite shop) to get him a new toy. While looking at some items, Jeff told me to pick something out for our new dog!
We drove right over to his office to go on Petfinder.com and browse the shelters (only adopt from shelters). We found a Boston Terrier and a Beagle Dachshund mix we were interested in, but not 100% because of some behavior issues they tend to have. Then Jeff said it would be really cool to find another puggle since George has worked out so well and all.
We went over to PetSmart and the rescue we adopted George from was there. They recognized us and George and we started chatting about how we were ready to get George a brother or sister. They told us they just got a 1 year old puggle in and she was at their other adoption location. They made a call to hold her for us and off we went.
It was a no brainer. She was just adorable. She was from Animal Control (we think her owner was older and had died) and was on death row when the rescue got her. She's a little overweight and has more pug then beagle in her, but very well trained and knows commands and George got along with her which was most important.
Jeff also surprised me by arranging a private dinner at our favorite restaurant, Harmoni. The closed off this area that is in their wine nook and had a whole four course dinner planned with wines paired for each course and our own menu! I was so overwhelmed with just the new addition alone, that I finally broke into tears at dinner.
I had the best birthday! I can't think of a single thing I would have wanted different. I love my Jeff, he is the best of the best.
Is 31 Really Old?
Please tell me it's not, because that's I how old I will be officially at 12:47 PM tomorrow.
The other day I received a package in the mail. Jeff and I were both confused since neither one of us had ordered anything.
I opened it up and inside was the coolest monkey t-shirt! But, there was no card and on the packing slip, no order information, so I have no idea who sent it.
So, whoever sent me the monkey t-shirt, thank you so much, I just love it.
Out With The Old
I had my dentist appointment Tuesday. All went well, I have beautiful gums, he wants me back for another polishing in August, BUT I have to have emergency wisdom tooth surgery.
Happy with the x-rays, roots are great, teeth are strong, but alas, my bottom wisdom tooth has surfaced and is growing into the other tooth and has caused major damage. I also have to get a top one pulled, but that one is no big deal. The bottom one is so bad that they hope that while extracting it, it won't cause to much damage to the neighbor tooth, if so, I might loose that one. Crap. At least it's a back tooth, and if needed, I can get an implant. But let's hope they can save my tooth.
I should be angry, but this is my new dentist, and I'm not angry with him, he's cool. I'm angry at the
spirit of my dentist who died who should have caught this sooner. You can see the wisdom teeth in x-rays even when they haven't surfaced yet, he should have pointed this out back then and suggest I take care of it. But the tooth has grown in, and by the looks of it, it looks fine, and I have no pain whatsoever, but the x-rays say it all. Crap crap crap.
So on the way home I scheduled an appointment with an oral surgeon. I had a wisdom tooth pulled three years ago, but it was done at the dentist and was no big deal. This asshole tooth is going to cause me a world of pain and I am not happy.
To make the afternoon better, in the mail I got the picture of
Zab I wanted so much and enclosed in a nice little card and note from the Hollands.
Zab is already in a frame and on the photo book shelf with everyone else. She is hanging out with
Ailsa Kennedy and a little boy named Marcus. I love this picture, it's of
Zab sitting in front of the Texas Stonehenge with a silly little smile and he arms up like she's dancing the jig. Thank you thank you thank you!
