A Happy Thanksgiving
We ended up with 19. Jeff and I love to host, so we will make all the food, except dessert. That's up to the guests. Jeff did make a delicious pumpkin mousse, I need to give him props for that.
We cooked a 20lb turkey stuffed with the Stanford's secret stuffing, buttery corn, fresh carrots baked with onions and rosemary, creamy sour cream mashed potatoes, the traditional crescent rolls, and tons of wine. The secret Stanford gravy recipie was also passed down to Jeff this year. Bud took about a half hour with him to teach Gravy 101. Jeff's parents arrived around 12:30 and the rest showed up around 1:00.
The weather was about 70, so we set everything up in the backyard. It was so nice that after a big Thanksgiving meal, Sharon wanted all the men to go back to her place and move the piano from their house to ours. So, now Jeff and I have a piano.
It was such a nice day, I hated having to go back to work on Friday.
Bud went back to NC Saturday to move a load of stuff to the summer place, so we hung out with Sharon and showed her the magic of the dog park. She had a great time watching George Lucas run around, roll in the dirt and mud and he even made a new friend, a 7 month old puggle puppy. I think George is a better puggle. We then all went to the Willow Tree for lunch. It's a dog-friendly place and George loves their knockwurst.
Just a month to go before the Bear Lake house is empty. Bud and Sharon close on January 2nd.
Sick For Real
I am sick for real this time. My left ear is all clogged up and throbbing with pain which tells me I'm getting an ear infection, my throat is killing me and I haven't stopped sweating since Saturday.
I suffer. I will be seeing the doctor, AGAIN!
Happy Thanksgiving!
My favorite holiday. Jeff and I love hosting. We will have 17 this year. Woo Hoo!
I hope everyone has a nice holiday with friends and family.
To The Doctor I Will Go
I have this sharp little swollen spot under my left jaw line, before my neck. It just started Saturday, but it's only getting worse. It almost feels like I'm choking on something. I made an appointment to see my doctor Tuesday afternoon.
Maybe it's my twin?
Cultural Learnings of America For Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan
Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha! Probably THE funniest film we saw this year.
Make sexy time!
Intern Shopping
This is how much I love my husband.
Every year, The Orlando Sentinel hosts its annual Intern Pusuit, where kids from UCF and Rollins apply for their required internship to graduate. Jeff complains about it every year, so I wanted to check it out. I also wanted to give him input because if the intern makes him happy, then he makes the wife happy.
It was everything you could hope for and more. 20 year olds in power suits and cheap shoes, hading out their resumes on Precious Moments paper and saying they want to work in marketing and PR because they like people. I really love the ones who like to plan events because they are good with party planning. There was one kid who basically said he wanted to meet important people so he can get a high paying job right out of college. He didn't make the cut.
I interviewed some, and I wished I asked if they mind crying because Mr. Stanford is notorious for making interns cry in front of people, but it slipped my mind.
We found a handful of decent candidates, graded them on their questions and discussed who would get what intern. Jeff will schedule the final interviews.
Can't wait for next year!
Gatorland
Built in 1949 as a roadside attraction then a them park and wildlife center. It survived all the Disney, Universal I-Drive mania, only to be burnt to the ground today.
It was on the news at 6:00 AM, a three alarm fire destroyed the central Florida landmark. Even the famous gator mouth entrance.
So sad.
