Clerks II and Sunday and the Mall

You must go see this movie. I could not think of a better sequel to Clerks. I laughed the whole time. We love Kevin Smith.

After Clerks II, Jeff and I walked over to the mall to do a little shopping. We got Jeff two new suits for work, but won't be ready from alterations for a few days and the to the Gap. While I was looking at these really cool, loose knit sweaters, this crazy 50 something year old Gap lady freaked me out. She needed to get where I was at, and instead of just saying the random "excuse me, please", she said, "I hope I'm not in YOUR way, I AM trying to help a customer." I politely moved over and gestured her to take my place. A few minutes later I was looking at some t-shirts. She came back over and asked if I needed any help finding anything. I smiled and thanked her, but declined and told her I was just putzing. She then threw her head back and said, "Well, I AM trying to help EVERYONE and YOU ARE looking through all these shirts." In the nastiest tone at that! Now, if you ever go shopping with me, you've witnessed first hand on how polite I am. I always make it a point to say hello when greeted, put back what I was looking at where I found it and folded or hung on its hanger. I worked in customer service while being a bank teller and paid my dues in retail, so I know how horrible shoppers can be and what's said about them when they leave, and I don't want that. I love it when I go into the places I frequent and they know me. However, this lady turned me off from the Gap so bad, it will be years before I ever go back in one. Or, at least the Altamonte Gap. What a bitch.

Jeff bought me a Cinnabon to help me feel better. It helped.

Little Miss Dora

I found a kitten outside the bank I work at. She's about 6-7 weeks old, a very rich midnight blue color all over and loves to be held. She is staying at Hotel Stanford until we can find her a home. Her name is Dora because I work in Mount Dora, get it?

Need a kitten?

Toga Toga Toga

For my 30th birthday party, Jeff and my sister put together a toga party.

Yes, the house was full of people and togas. I had a coliseum birthday cake, pizza bar and a fabulous lime green toga.

A friend of ours, Melia, came over to make her famous lemon drops of fire. She makes them so tasty, I had about 15 or more of the 2 ouncers. She super chills some good vodka, with a lemon slice on top, soaked in 151 and covered in sugar. She torches the lemon so the sugar carmalizes. Once the fire is out, (only a few seconds), you do your shot and suck the lemon. My good friend Tammy was there, and she is my official drinking buddy. Believe it or not, I had no hangover when I went to pick up George from the vet the next morning, but I realized I was pretty wasted when at about 5:00 AM I was still awake a realized we had a massive fire going on in the fire bowl out back and never blew out the torches. The HOA would have been so pissed if we burned down their head quarters. Our neighbors pointed out they noticed something on fire and that someone was called a "dirty whore". At least they thought t was funny and happy we were having a good time. For those who know the neighborhood, they're the cool ones next door in the yellow house.

Jeff wore a monkey toga. I never thought I could love him even more. I thought the Key West trip was my present, but before the toga fest began, he gave me the most beautiful ruby necklace. I've never had anything with my birthstone. His mama taught him right. I have the best husband in the world.

Celebrating followed Saturday evening with dinner at Liz's place. She and her hubby were at the party, decked out in their finest togas, but she wanted to make us her lamb kabobs and hummus. Gotta love a girl who can make hummus for you at any given time, and it's always better than before. I could live on it.

But the fun has come to an end. It's back to work tomorrow, new job is going well.

I can't believe I'm freaking 30!

It's a Beautiful Day in Pina Coladaburg

Inside joke. Hahahahahahahaha!

We had a really nice time in Key West. Our flight took off on time, shared the plane with 5 other people and had a smooth landing at the airport (it looks like a screened in porch).

We checked in, then hit the pavement. Enjoyed a ton of conch fritters and drinky drinks (thank you Sloppy Joe's), visited various museums (Hemingway house is by far the best) and just relaxed and enjoyed each other.

I have the best husband in the world. What a wonderful birthday present. 30 will be official Friday the 14th, we celebrate with togas!

And just so you all know, this Monday the 10th, I will be starting my new job. I accepted a position working for a smaller bank, but a strong one that has a lot of room for me to grow and better opportunities. It was heartbreaking having to resign. My manager and the team I worked with were amazing, but sometimes being a grown up sucks and you have to make a decision based on business, not on friendship. My new location is in a much nicer and safer area, and I won't have to deal with the public. But I promised to keep in touch with the people I left. I will really miss them, but they are only an email away.
