Buh Bye Nasty Carpet

The carpet in the master bedroom is gone. Let's all take a minute to remember how much we hated it.

Last weekend we tore it our and replaced it with our new wood laminent floors. Whoever said installing floors was easy, should be shot, no questions asked. Installing it was the biggest pain in the ass I've ever experienced next to W winning in 2000 and 2004 and hernia surgery. My knee caps are in some serious pain from kneeling on concrete, hammering in floors and my back hurts from sleeping on the floor, and the boys are all messed up from the house being all out of whack. See, all the bedroom furniture was all over the house for about a week. But hey, I can honestly say I know how to install new floors and put on a roof.

Next will be the kitchen counter tops. I should be at work while that happens.

Not much else to report. Jeff is at work today and I'm at the house cleaning and organizing. The boys are both asleep, next to each other on the great golden recliner. George is resting his head on daddy's new Darth Vader pillow, shaped like his helmut head and Larry is curled up in a ball, kind of like the Death Star. Wow, I'm really geeking out. I need to stop while I'm ahead.

Busy!

You wouldn't believe all the home improvements we are doing.

We got a new big ass flower box planter thing around the large oak by the driveway, thanks to Bud.

We're finally getting our new floors installed in the master bedroom, thanks to Bud.

New counter tops are on the way, thanks to Bud.

Maybe I should say you wouldn't believe all the home improvements Bud is doing.

George went to the Paws in the Park walk today, benefiting the SPCA. He had a great time, but he is super worn and sleepy. We also rescued the bank cats, Bonnie and Clyde. Meg and I got them with an animal trap, took the to the vet and got the works. They stayed with me and Jeff for a week, then they went to their new homes. They're fat and happy, and will be for a long time. We're really sticking to our new years resolution, doing more for animal rescue. But hey if you want to slide a donation my way to help with the cost for Bonnie and Clyde, I'm not shy. You know how to get a hold of me.

That's it for now. Today is Angelinas birthday. She's visiting here from Miami. We're taking her out to celebrate.
