Happy Fathers Day

Fathers Day was wonderful. The boys and I got Jeff some new DVD's, made hime a huge breakfast and lounged around all day just having quiet time. Right now the three of them are sleeping in the family room.

Happy Fathers Day, Jeff! We love you.

Did anyone else get the information packet and legal notice to join the class action lawsuit against the Crescent Hotel?

The Landslide Will Bring It Down

Yup, Stevie Nicks said it best.

I have a small landslide in my driveway. For those of you who have been to the new place know that the one side of my driveway has a little flower box like border that holds the soil and some kind of flower the previous owner planted. Well, we are on day 15 of nonstop rain and all the moisture has cause that little flower box to fall apart thus letting all the goodness it was holding in loose. Not a problem you might think. Sounds pretty easy to fix, right? Well, I thought so until I took on the task.

Where I need to build a new box, I am facing huge oak tree roots that need to be cut away so I can find where the curb meets the ground, and have room between the curb and ground
to build up my box. I thought about the pretty landscape borders, but they're not strong enough to hold the dirt and I can't get them in the ground because of the roots. Also, it keeps raining, so I can't work on it. This is a big pain in my ass and it looks horrible. Ah, one of the many perks, I guess, of being a homeowner.

We had our friends Shawn and Tammy over for dinner last night. They are in the middle of the contract negotiating for the new home they are buying. After dinner they took us over to see it. I declare it the new party house. It has an eight seater hot tub and a cabana bar in the back. I can't wait to help them move in so we can have a party there and I can play Isaac the Bartender. It's really a nice place and my heart goes out to them. Buying a house can nearly kill you, but they are holding up pretty well.

That's it for now. The boys are all good, Larry and George are getting along these days pretty well. Infact, they are both sleeping by my feet as I type, Jeff is as sexy as ever.

Rainy Days Are Here Again

We have had heavy rain and serious thunderstorms for six days in a row. Great for the grass and trees, bad for people who have a puppy that wants to go outside and play. Whatever, we still love the rain.

We have a small break last night, long enough for Jeff and I to take George Lucas to Park Avenue for a walk and some Starbucks. We took him there last Saturday morning and he loved it. It wore him out so much that he fell asleep in his car seat on the way home (yes, we have a car seat in Jeff's car made special for small dogs). Jeff and I learned that the Starbucks on Park Avenue is a place to be seen if you have a dog. It's like a mini dog show. People meet up, drink a coffee, snack on a treat (love the Berry Summer Stack) and show off their dogs. George Lucas was a big hit, and has made some new dog friends. We'll be back next Saturday.

I just got off the phone with my good friend Tammy. She just made an offer on a house and the seller accepted! Woo Hoo! She is so excited, but exhausted. House hunting, buying and all the negotiating can nearly kill you. Jeff and I have promised our services for painting, yard detail and moving. I'm so happy for her.
