Sick

I'm sick. I have a nasty cold that is sitting in my ears. I had my first ear infection a few years a go and ever since then, when I get a cold it goes straight to my ears and I get an ear infection. I went to my doctor yesterday so I could get some of the good stuff to stop it before it turns into one. Now I just feel oogy and I can't hear anything out of my left ear. My doctor actually suggested I get tubes since this always happens and I already have damage in my left ear from an infection that didn't respond to the medication and I ended up with a ruptured ear drum. I can see myself waiting in line with a bunch of mothers and their screaming three year olds on "Tube Day" at the hospital. I think I'll pass.

I think the vacation fairy knows that Jeff and I are getting out of town. I always get sick before a trip. We leave Saturday morning. Yippee!

Happy Birthday Cavanaugh!!!

Cavanaugh is 16. Everyone wish him a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! I should check and see who the oldest living Scotty is. I bet Cavanaugh can beat him, if he hasn't already. That's my boy!

Nasty Earthworms

Cav got a stomach parasite, again, from eating dried up dead earthworms on his walks. He spent the nigh and Jeff and I picked him up Saturday morning and he's as good as new with the exception of leftovers.

We drove to St. Pete Saturday evening to pick up Karen who went there the day before for the Eckerd reunion. We were going to stay the night, but because of Cavy's ass-of-fire, we returned the same night. Not before a fun dinner at the Horse and Jockey Pub with Jeff, Karen, Chris and their college friend John W. The Horse and Jockey is the best. I wish it was here in Orlando.

That's all for now. Karen leaves us tomorrow for Texas then New Orleans where she will meet up with her husband. Then back to Texas to vote. What a good American.

A Great Time

We had a great weekend! On Saturday Jeff and I took Karen to Gatorland. What an old Florida swampy experience it was. It was my first time. Lots of gators, lots of Nascar fans and a petting zoo! I loved the goats.

Sunday we went to the Gospel Brunch at the House of Blues. That was so wonderful the food was great, the music was fantastic! I recommend it to anyone. That evening Chris came! We had a great time grilling steaks and drinking all that was left of the Holland liquor. Our friends Liz and Andrew stopped by and we all had a great visit. A little hung over though, the next morning. And there's nothing like being hung over and getting ready for Sea World!

We had so much fun at Sea World. We did the Shark Encounter, Manatees, Dolphin Nursery, the Shamu and Sea Lion show and checked out the Whales, Penguins and Polar Bears. I'm so happy Karen is here and Chris was able to come up for the weekend and escape nasty house cleaning.

Now its back to work. Jeff is still taking time off to play host. Cavanaugh and Larry send their best!

A Full Weekend

Karen is here safe and sound. We have a full week of fun and excitement planned for her. She sends her best to everyone and will see some at the reunion next weekend.

I'm going through my New York for Dummies to plan our trip. We fly out October 30 and return Novbember 5th. We will be staying at the Ameritania in Midtown on 57th and Broadway rignt next to Central Park. It looks sweet online and it has a 24 hour espresso bar!

Karen is Coming!

Our friend, Karen, who most of you know, is flying in from England today and spending a week with us. Yippee! We are thrilled to have her. She and her husband, Paul, are the best.

Believe it or not, Larry is the best when it comes to giving him eye drops. Jeff will hold him and I apply the drops. Larry doesn't struggle, cry or hold a grudge. He purs through the whole thing and even when you're finished! My child, what and angel. Cav will watch and then he just falls asleep.

The Stanfords are good for now. We are just doing our thing. We bought Fahrenheit 911 and Saved the other day. Did anyone watch the debates or SNL this week. I missed the debates, but SNL had a pretty good cover on them. Ha Ha!

We're Nuts For Our House

I think the water must be poisoned. Jeff and I did landscaping and cleaned out the garage this weekend. We planted 25 lariapes in the front, hosed all the mud off the house from the storms and Sunday, spent 10 hours cleaning out the garage, sorting and doing the final unpacking. We are officially moved in.

Cavanaugh is getting his hair done tomorrow at the vet and Larry will go with him. Larry's one eye is very cloudy and red. He's eating and drinking fine, making potty and poops fine and his nose is cold and wet, so he must have something in it. Larry also ate his first lizard Friday. Eww!
